John Moriarty & Associates has transformed 1.5 Million SF at Boston Landing, located in Brighton Mass, into a new Hub of Boston. State Electric has been fortunate to be working with JMA every step of the way. In September of 2016, State Electric began working on the 18 story, 384,126 SF, 295 unit Residences at Boston Landing and after 20 months the project has been completed. The Residences opened under the name The Lantera and offers its residences numerous stimulating amenities including a fitness center, Loft18 rooftop lounge with sweeping city views, bike storage area, dog care facility, and a third floor outdoor terrace with a swimming pool, cabanas, fire pits, gas grills, recreation area, and TV projection screens. In addition to The Lantera project, State Electric has also completed the New Balance World Headquarters, Boston Bruin’s Practice Facility (Warrior Ice Arena), Proteostasis Lab/Office and is currently working on Bose’s Office and Roche Diagnostics Lab/Office space at 80 Guest St.
Originally, construction was scheduled for phased turnovers of the building, 6/1/2018 for Floors 1-7, 7/1/2018 for Floors 8-12, and 8/1/2018 for Floors 14-18. However, the schedule was expedited to provide a full building turnover on 4/1/2018. In order to meet the accelerated schedule, State Electric had to be more innovative and rely heavily on our prefabrication processes. The 295 units had 44 different room configurations and were all coordinated and installed for 100% prefabrication. By implementing lean construction principles throughout the project, State Electric was able to operate extremely efficient, reduce job site congestion, streamline workflow processes, improve quality, and meet the expedited schedule.
The State Electric team led by Project Manager Mike Abbott, General Foreman Peter Caratelli, Foremen Ronnie Seccareccio, Rick Camillieri, Bob Garrett, Phan Nguyen, Chris Goodwin, and Prefab Coordinator Michelle Stelmach delivered an extremely successful and quality project. Not enough can be said about how well this team has performed and they are a key reason why we are privileged to be part of the Boston Landing projects since first going to work back in 2014. We appreciate the discipline, expertise, and hard work that everyone on the job demonstrated.
State Electric looks forward to continuing its partnership with John Moriarty & Associates on the buildings coming up in the pipeline at Boston Landing!
