The project involves the first of two phases involving the replacement of parallel 115kV SCFF (self-contained fluid filled) circuits originally installed in 1932. The cables began to fail in 1953 and have encountered 90 issues to date. The replacement cable is a 115kV EPR high voltage cable manufactured by Kerite Cable of Connecticut. State Electric is a subcontractor to Kerite for this installation.
